Dr. Mehta graduated with a M.B.B.S. and M.D. from King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, India. He then moved to England, where he became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, Ire). Dr. Mehta completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL in 1990.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has published several research papers. He is a Professor of Medicine at Wright State University and an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University. Dr. Mehta has served as Chairman of various committees at Kettering Medical Center and Sycamore Medical Center, where he was a member of the Medical Executive Committee for 16 years, including Chief of staff for two years. The Medical residents awarded him Best Teacher of the Year in 1991. He is a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Mehta is married, has three children, and enjoys music, tennis, and golf.
