Dr. Carballo received his MD degree from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon, Bolivia in 2007.
He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, followed by a year as chief medical resident prior to starting his Gastroenterology fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Carballo is married and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing racquetball, and biking with his son.
