You will need to purchase:
- One 10 ounce bottle of Citrate of Magnesium
- Two Fleet disposable enemas
Both products are sold over the counter at most drug stores.
The day before your procedure:
- Follow your regular diet.
- At 3:00 pm drink one 10 ounce bottle of Citrate of Magnesium.
The day of your procedure:
Follow a clear liquid diet. Clear liquids include:
- Water
- Clear fruit juices (Apple, Grape)
- Bouillon or clear broth
- Jell-O without fruit added (any flavor except red)
- Hard candy
- Coffee and tea (no milk or creamer)
- Gatorade (any flavor except red)
- Popsicles (any flavor except red)
- Carbonated beverages (Coke, 7-Up, Mountain Dew, etc.)
When your procedure is scheduled, you will be instructed about what times to use the Fleet enemas. Use the enemas prior to your procedure, waiting about one hour between the first and second enema.
